The Ten Swords in Action is the seventy-sixth chapter of the Rurouni Kenshin manga.
Synopsis[]
Shishio's etile group of swordsmen, the Jūppongatana start to arrive at the hideout at Mount Hiei. The first one to arrive is Sawagejō Chō, the sword hhunter. When Hōji informs them that Kenshin asked for help to Arai Seikū, Chō gets interested in the possibility of getting Arai Shakkū's last sword. What will Chō do to get such precious sword? Is the Arai family in danger from Chō's actions?

This chapter has several differences with other portrayals of the events of the story in different iterations of the franchise:
Differences with the 1996 anime[]
- The scenes where Shishio and Yumi meet and talk to Hōji, along with the scene where Chō appears, were moved to the beginning of the anime episode.
- The scene where Misao tells recalls the story and kicks Kenshin out the window was cut from the anime episode.
- In contrast with the manga where Seikū appears after some time after Kenshin and company are present, in the anime Seikū only appears when Iori calls him out.
Differences with Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyōto Hen[]
- Some scenes from this manga chapter were not adapted into the OVA.
- In the manga Sōjirō was not present at the base, becaue he was ordered by Shishio to summon the Jūppongatana. In the OVA, he is present at Shishio's base
- Hōji does not appear in these scenes of the OVA.
Differences with Rurouni Kenshin: Kyōto Inferno[]
- The scene where Misao tells recalls the story and kicks Kenshin out the window was cut from the movie.
- In the manga, Chō appears after Hōji. In the film he appears at the same time as Hōji.
- The scene where Chō drinks is not in the manga.
- In the manga, Hōji reveals that Kenshin wants to take Shakkū's last sword. In the film, Chō anticipates this.
- In the manga, Azusa appears after Seikū. In the live-action film, she is there before Seikū because she has to do the laundry and she has to look after Iori.
Differences with the 2023 anime[]
- The scene where Hōji gives Shishio a bouquet of Gladioli flowers is anime original. It was not present in the manga
- The scene where Chō plays kendama with Iori is anime original. It was not present in the manga.
