Anime Notes[]
- There are several differences in the events of this episode between the anime and the manga:
- Kaoru's anxious expression following Okubo's departure from the Kamiya Dōjō is anime original.
- In the original manga there is a scene of Kaoru and Megumi trying to convince Kenshin not to go to see Ōkubo, and Megumi putting a dog leash at Kenshin's neck. In the anime both Kaoru and Megumi are not much opposed to Kenshin going, and the leash scene is not present.
- After Ōkubo's death, in the manga there is a scene of a conversation between Kenshin and Saitō where Kenshin asks what is he going to do, and Saitō says the only thing to do is go to Kyōto. That scene was omitted in the anime.
- In the original manga the scene of Kenshin reflecting atop the bridge while remembering the words by Udō Jin-e, Aoshi and Saitō Hajime is longer. In the anime that scene was shortened.
- The post-credit lines were not uttered in the manga at that particular juncture, and the revelation of Shishio was likewise absent from that scene. This is all anime original, as a preview and cliffhanger for a next season of the anime.
Trivia[]
- The episode was titled after Acts 56 and 57, that are Parts 1 and 2 of the same story.
- This is the final episode of first season of the Rurouni Kenshin 2023 Anime.
