Nakajō was a member of the Yaminobu and a best friend of Otowa Hyōko, from whom he acquired his 'Chusen'. He would be the first of the group to fight Kenshin in the 'Binding Forest'.
Appearance[]
Nakajō was a muscular man, black hair that extends past his ears, thin eyebrows, and white eyes.
Nakajō wore a black short sleeved shirt, arm braces, black pants, dark colored bandages around his lower legs, white socks, sandals, and a skin tight dark colored shirt with the neck extending upwards to his nose and a hole were the mouth is.
Personality[]
Nakajō was a very talkative individual, who took great pride in how the Yaminobu fought. Like the rest of his comrades, he was completely willing to sacrifice his life in the name of maintaining the Bakufu. Nakajo was willing to do anything to kill his target, even ending his own life.

- Yaminobu: He was a member of the Yaminobu.
- Otowa Hyōko: He was a best friend and a possible lover of Otowa, and was even given the Shadow tool, 'Chusen', from him.
Abilities[]
Nakajō was a skilled combatant. He was adept at using his Chusen, as he was able to accurately kill Katagai in the back of the neck from a distance away.

- 'Chusen': is a shadow instrument in the form of an armband with a tube that fires darts.
History[]
Nakajō is attending a meeting, where I'izuka reveals that Kenshin's skills have dulled. When Mumyōi reveals that he has caught a spy, Nakajō quickly kills Katagai with the tool, 'Chusen', that he had gotten from his friend. After this has happened, Tatsumi says that they will have to kill Kenshin and that they will have to use the seed that they planted a year ago.
Days later, Nakajō is waiting in the forest when Tomoe arrives. Nakajō then attends the meeting, where Tomoe explains Kenshin's weakness. After Tatsumi takes care of her, he has Nakajo, Sumita, and Mumyōi station at different spots in the forest to kill Kenshin. As Kenshin enters the forest, Nakajō manages to get behind Kenshin and wound him. He then greets Kenshin and explains what the Binding Forest is capable, but Kenshin doesn't care and attacks Nakajō. Kenshin manages to pin him, but Nakajō uses his Chusen to wound Kenshin's shoulder. Nakajō starts to gloat, but Kenshin removes the dart and cuts off Nakajō's forearms. He quickly runs to a cave, which Kenshin easily catches up to him. Kenshin asks where Tomoe is, which Nakajō tells him where she is but explains who they are and how many are left. Nakajō then sets off an explosion that temporarily takes away Kenshin's sense of hearing, killing himself in the process.
His death is later used by Otowa as an excuse to go after Kenshin during Jinchu Arc.
