Rurouni Kenshin: The Final (るろうに剣心 最終章 The Final Rurouni Kenshin: Saishūshō – Za Fainaru ) is a 2021 live-action theatrical film directed by Keishi Ōtomo as the fourth and final installment of the Rurouni Kenshin film series based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's series of the same name. The story is based on the series' Jinchū Arc whereas the film was co-produced with a fifth entry titled Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning that plots Kenshin's past as the Battousai to background the current film.

Differences from the Manga[]
- Gein and Inui Banjin doesn't appear in the film version since they're already appeared in the first film as Takeda Kanryū's followers.
- Inui Tenmon replace Inui Banjin in the film version.
- In the manga, Sanosuke appeared on time to fight against Inui Banjin at Maekawa Dōjō. In the film, Sanosuke arrived too late.
- Kenshin's epiphany to "answer his past" is gracefully faded out.
- The Kaoru's corpse doll scene is completely removed in film version. Instead, Enishi left Sawagejō Chō's corpse with a written message in his mouth.
- Seta Sōjirō doesn't appear in the manga version.
- There are a few differences regarding how and who Enishi and Woo Heishin's followers are defeated:
- In the manga, Otowa Hyōko is arrested after he was defeated by Yahiko. In the film, Otowa Hyōko kills himself via detonation after he's defeated by Kenshin.
- In the manga, Yatsume Mumyōi was defeated by Saitō. In the film, Mumyōi is defeated by Misao.
- In the film, Misao is leading Oniwabanshū since Aoshi is still recovering from his injuries in the previous movie.
- In the manga, Inui Banjin was defeated by Sanosuke. In the film, Inui Tenmon (Inui Banjin's replacement) was defeated by Saitō.
- In the manga, all of 4 members of Su Shen are defeated by Yahiko, Sanosuke, Saitō, and Aoshi. In the film, they never meet the Su Shen members.
- Additionally, Yahiko and Aoshi do not join the final battle at the end of the film.
- The conclusion of the Kenshin vs. Enishi battle differs greatly to which Kenshin ultimately accepts Enishi's knife stab as penance instead of the swordplay clash of succession techniques.
- Enishi's fate lands him in prison, whereas in the manga, he wanders soullessly until he retires in Rakuninmura.
