Concerning the 'Hiten Mugen Zan' technique, do you have a source confirming that it ends in a 'countless barrage of slahes'? SRicher (talk) 19:36, March 29, 2019 (UTC)Edit

Yes, I do.

Within Crescent Moon In The Warring States, post Hiko's execution of the move, you can eventually see panels of Iwano's body flying midair and falling apart into pieces, blood and body parts and all. Well, I wouldn't mean organs, but you can see clear straight divisions gradually separating his body and blood eventually ooze out of them over the course of a few panels, meaning they're the result of cutting into Iwano many, many times. In short, he is mangled and diced apart.

If this was the result of the slash merely launching Iwano into the air and the blast of rocks and dirt killing him, there would be more bruising and collapse of his body by the ordinance, and evidence of rocks trailing and aligning with his fall (EDIT 2), along with nothing but an enormous gaping split of his body cutting it into two.

Also, the name is appropriate due to its vernacular weight and defining words that help evoke the attack's imagery, ie a seemingly infinite execution of slashes. EDIT: Combined with the dynamics of the Shinsoku of Hiten Mitsurugi and the reality of such speeds bearing great amount of energy and strength behind them to achieve being able to be swung at speeds unable to be seen with the naked eye, this also ties credence into how the attack is practically so fast that the only glimpse of it being performed is the final slash into the ground by Hiko.

I know, I've been around the internet and I had discovered the website that had the original definition of the Hiten Mugen Zan, which was practically lifted from the site onto the wiki. However, even that was inaccurate.

I looked at the panel again, and you're right. These are clearly mutliple slahes Moreover, look at what I've found:

Mugen means 'infinite' so clearly 'more than one': https://jisho.org/search/%E7%84%A1%E9%99%90

Zan means 'decapitation' (or 'killing'): https://jisho.org/search/%E6%96%AC
